Hospital Bag Essentials!
I have FINALLY packed my hospital bag for myself and my little babes and I’m feeling soo much better now that I feel more prepared for when these little ones arrive. I’m currently 35 weeks pregnant with my identical twin girls, so they could truly arrive any day now as most identical twins are delivered around 36 weeks – eek! Let’s break down everything I’m bringing in my hospital bag with me..
My Hospital bag essentials:
First off, I wanted a super cute and functional hospital bag to bring with me, and I found the cutest one on Mina Baie. I went with their Camden Weekender and I’m so happy I did. It was super easy to pack and fit a TON of items too. Here’s what I put inside of it…
- CLOTHING
- Birthing Gown/Nursing Gown: This is key especially in the case that I may need an emergency c-section (hoping that’s not the case!) Not to mention, the gown option will be super comfy for the hospital.
- Shorts PJ’s & Top: Making sure any PJ’s had buttons for easy access to the boobs was important and these are super comfy and cute too!
- Long Sleeve Silk & Shorts Set: This set I thought would be cute to have another option at the hospital and a long sleeve one too. I also love the silk material that helps to regulate body temp too!
- Nursing Robe: I got this robe from Caden Lane that matches two outfits I got for the girls that I will be bringing to the hospital!
- Nursing Bras: I grabbed a few of these from Seraphine and they’re super comfy.
- Jumpsuit to Wear Home: I heard loose is the way to go for any going home outfit or outfits in general, so I snagged this one from Hatch with one of my fave Anine Bing Sweatshirts in case I get cold!
- Lots of SOCKS: I was told you need cozy socks (I brought my fave ones from alo), grippy socks (I used ones I had from pilates) and compression socks too.
- Footwear: Cozy slippers and shower shoes (I just packed my rubber flip flops.)
- RECOVERY ESSENTIALS:
- Cutie Pouch:This was calling my name for all of my momma recovery must haves!
- Frida Mom Recovery Kit: I brought a few essentials from this kit including the disposable underwear and cooling pad liners.
- Frida Mom Peri Bottle: I heard this one is wayyy better than what they give you at the hospital so we’re bringing it along!
- Perineal Healing Spray: I’ve heard the spray is magic and does wonders for healing!
- Organic Nipple Butter by Earth Momma: I’ve heard rave reviews of this and I know the first days of breastfeeding can be rough, so this is coming too.
- Silver Nipple Cups: These are supposed to be great for soothing the nips for any breastfeeding debacles 🙂
- Nipple Shields for Breastfeeding: I heard these can help a lot of you have any troubles with the babies latching which can be a struggle in the hospital!
- Wooden Comb: This is more for the birth process as I heard gripping this in your palms can help manage the pain of your contractions during labor. It also is a baby brush too, so win/win!
- Peppermint Essential Oil: Again, more for the labor process – my friend told me to smell this during contractions to help calm down during the pain and get your mind off of it!
- MISC ITEMS:
- Cozy Blanket: This has been recommended to stay comfy and cozy in the hospital!
- My Own Pillow: Again, recommended to bring so I’m super comfy!
- Breastfeeding Pillow: I heard this can be helpful to bring and since I have twins, I’ll be bringing my twin breastfeeding pillow to put to use!
- Polaroid Camera: I love this camera and have used it to document every week of pregnancy so far, so we will def be bringing it with us in the room!
- Camera Tripod: We will set this up to film the birth and any other fun moments!
- Ice Roller: I do not want any post delivery puff and this is going to feel AMAZING – it’s my fave thing to do every morning, so will def be bringing it along!
- 10 ft. iPhone Chargers: You want them to be able to reach the bed ok!
- Portable Sound Machine: This can be helpful in case there are other laboring mommas nearby to get through the night!
- Journal & Pens: My friend told me you may want to journal whether to write a letter to your babies or just journal on the experience!
Other things I’ll be bringing include toiletries, light makeup, my favorite snacks, drinks, vitamins, my printed birth preferences, insurance cards, laptop, a portable speaker and finally a cooler for my placenta because I’ll be encapsulating it. I also made this TikTok going over everything I packed in the girls diaper bag. You can get all of those items here! Thanks for being here love! x
